Basic Furniture Painting
Next classes: Saturday 22nd November, 2014. Classes held at our Waterloo showroom.
This hands-on course covers the basic techniques involved in painting furniture. Learn how to prepare your pieces, tricks of the trade with application and experiment with different products to produce different looks including Chalk Emulsion, Milk Paint, acrylic paints, Liquid Iron, Duchess Satin and many more. Techniques include striping, antiquing, distressing and French Provincial. Students to bring their own piece of furniture to decorate. This class is taught by Ludi Braga, manager of the Waterloo store.

This course offers home decorators, interior designers and trade painters the chance to experiment with Porter's Paints range of interior wall finishes. These workshops provide a hands-on experience with tips and tricks shared in the course.
The workshop will be a hands-on experience where you can complete a sample board in each finish. Learn how to replicate beautiful decorative textures such as ancient bronze, the soft grey patina of architectural zinc, and aged metallic finishes like rusted iron and aged copper. We also cover the use of Crackle Medium, Chalk Emulsion and many more. If you have a sample of the surface you intend to paint, bring it along and we'll test it and advise the best products to use and necessary preparation.
