Brush-Ups

This course offers home decorators, interior designers and trade painters the chance to experiment with Porter's range of interior and exterior wall finishes. These one-day workshops provide a hands-on experience with tips and tricks shared throughout the course.
Basic Furniture Painting
Next class: Wednesday 1st, 8th and 15th September, 2010
This hands-on course covers the basic techniques involved in painting furniture. Learn how to prepare your pieces, tricks of the trade with application and experiment with different products to produce different looks including Milk Paint, acrylics and Duchess Satin. Techniques include striping, antiquing, distressing and French Provincial. Students to bring their own piece of furniture to decorate.
Wallpaper Hanging
Next class: Saturday 25th September, 2010
This workshop is a hands-on experience where you can learn about the history of wallpaper, the Porter's product, how to prepare a wall, use lining paper and estimate the amounts of wallpaper needed. You will also gain an understanding of how repeats work, matching patterns, trimming and finishing the process. Tips and tricks will be shared throughout the course, and lunch is provided.
