In the early 1900's my grandfather, Fred Porter was part of an awakening in Australian design.
His vision, as a builder and colourist can still be seen today in such iconic Australian buildings as 'Boomerang' in Elizabeth Bay, Sydney, (1928), the Capitol Theatre (1928) and the State Theatre (1929), Sydney.
His passion for the traditional paint finishes and building techniques of a Europe long-forgotten, were secreted away in a series of diaries I discovered, years after his passing.
These diaries were an inspiration to me.
With Fred as my guide, we developed new formulas for water-based paints to create beautiful traditional and modern paint finishes using his old recipes. My grandfather's vision is the foundation of Porter's Paints today.
